Living rooms are where a home expresses its personality to guests in the most direct manner. Level of sophistication, style and elegance are all quickly read in the décor of a living room. Additionally, the degree of formality that a home projects is determined by the living room. Color schemes set the context for the story that the living room will tell. Neutral and muted palettes will tend to let the furnishings shine, while more dramatic non-neutrals must have furnishings that can hold their own within the more powerful setting.

Dining Rooms: Where Rituals Happen

Will you be casually or formally dining? Or, perhaps something in the middle. Just dining? In general, the deeper, richer or darker you go, the more formal the mood will be.
